The Frontier Community College Bobcats Baseball team swept both games of a doubleheader in their home opener against the North Iowa Area Community College (NIACC) Trojans, on Friday, February 7 at FNB Field.

The Bobcats won in an offensive showdown in Game 1 before edging out a tight pitching duel in Game 2.
Game 1: Bobcats 11, NIACC 9
In a high-scoring opener, the Bobcats powered past NIACC behind a strong offensive performance and key pitching contributions. Drake Hartline earned the win, allowing just two hits while striking out two. Seth Harris came in for the save, shutting down NIACC with zero hits, zero earned runs, and two strikeouts.
At the plate, Cole Sims led the charge with a 2-for-5 performance, driving in three runs with a double. Sean McConachie stayed hot, going 3-for-4 with an RBI, while Nick Kaelin contributed a clutch triple and two RBIs. Dillon James showed patience at the plate, reaching base four times with a hit and three walks.
On the mound, Kaelin Farr provided 1.2 innings of work, allowing two hits and one earned run while striking out one. Trent Lowery was dominant in relief, tossing 2.1 hitless innings with two strikeouts to help secure the victory.
Game 2: Bobcats 2, NIACC 1
The Bobcats completed the sweep in a much different contest, as pitching stole the spotlight. Byler Reither was outstanding, earning the win with 5.2 innings of scoreless work, striking out eight while allowing just three hits. Seth Harris locked down his second save of the day, going 1.1 innings without allowing a hit, striking out three.
Offensively, the Bobcats mustered seven hits, with Dillon James contributing an RBI single. Cole Sims delivered another big game, going 2-for-3 with a double, a triple, and an RBI to help secure the win.
With the sweep, the Bobcats showcased both their offensive firepower and pitching depth, making a statement in their doubleheader against NIACC.
The Bobcats improve to 3-3 on the season. Their next game will be at the Vincennes Round Robin, starting on Friday, February 14.
