The Frontier Community College Bobcats baseball team hit the road to Pensacola, Florida, for a four-game series against the Pensacola State Pirates on Friday, February 21, and Saturday, February 22. The teams engaged in competitive action, with the Bobcats securing a win in the final game.
Friday Doubleheader Recap:
In the opening game of Friday's doubleheader, the Bobcats put up a strong fight but ultimately fell short in a 10-8 loss. Tony Woodie (RS-F, RHP/1B) made his mark with his first collegiate home run, a three-run blast. Kyler Stokes (RS-F, OF) contributed with a double and an RBI, while Justin Early (FR, C/1B) went a perfect 2-for-2 with an RBI. Caden Myers (SO, INF) also drove in a run. On the mound, Drake Hartline (FR, RHP) delivered a brief but effective performance, recording two strikeouts in 0.2 innings without allowing a hit or earned run.

Saturday's first contest saw the Pirates maintain their offensive momentum, taking an 18-5 win over the Bobcats. Despite the loss, Cole Sims had a great outing at the plate, going 2-for-3 with four RBIs. Kyler Stokes also chipped in with a hit and an RBI, while Isaiah Thompson (SO, OF), Gael Salinas, and Justin Early each recorded a hit.
The final game of the series proved to be a dramatic showdown, with the Bobcats coming out on top in a thrilling 12-11 victory. Drake Hartline played a pivotal role in securing the win, throwing four strong innings, allowing just three hits with no earned runs while striking out three. Cole Sims delivered at the plate once again, blasting a three-run home run and finishing with four RBIs. Nick Kaelin (RS-F, C) had a solid performance, going 2-for-4 with a double and two RBIs. Gael Salinas contributed with a 3-for-4 outing, including two doubles and an RBI. Isaiah Thompson, Joaquin Gutierrez (SO, MIF), Ty Becker, and Sean McConachie (FR, C) each drove in a run, while Asa Dunleavy (FR, INF), Justin Early, and Brock Taulman (FR, OF) also recorded hits.
The Bobcats now hold a 4-6 overall record of the campaign. Their next game is set for Wednesday, February 26, when they will be at Vincennes University for a single nine-inning contest. The game was originally scheduled to be at FNB Field, but due to field conditions, it has been moved to Vincennes.
