Frontier Community College sophomore pitcher, Byler Reither, is making history on the mound. As of Monday, May 5, 2025, Reither has shattered three single-season pitching records, cementing his name in Bobcat baseball lore.
Reither has recorded an impressive 101 strikeouts this season, surpassing the previous mark of 94 set in 2023 by Zach Leduc. Leduc, now a junior pitching for the Ball State Cardinals in Muncie, Indiana, had held the record for two years.
But Reither didn't stop there. He also rewrote the record books for innings pitched in a single season, with 82 innings logged. That broke Leduc's 2024 record of 73 innings.
On top of those achievements, Reither boasts a 2.63 ERA—edging out the previous record of 2.81, which was set by Drew Janssen over 25.2 innings in 2020.
Following his standout season, Reither is set to continue both his academic and athletic journey at Southeastern University in Lakeland, Florida, where he will join the Fire baseball program.
With three records under his belt, Reither leaves Frontier not only as a team leader but as one of the most dominant pitchers in school history.
