Gosser, Stanley Earn Bobcat Player of the Week Honors
Frontier Community College has named freshman infielder Mayes Gosser and sophomore infielder Alicia Stanley as this week’s Bobcat Players of the Week following their performances.
FAIRFIELD, Ill. — Frontier Community College has named freshman infielder Mayes Gosser and sophomore infielder Alicia Stanley as this week's Bobcat Players of the Week following their performances.
Gosser turned in a strong week at the plate for the Bobcats baseball team, delivering consistent offensive production against nationally ranked opponents. His standout performance came in Frontier's doubleheader against No. 19 John A. Logan College on March 28, where he went 4-for-5 in game one with a double and three singles to lead the Bobcats' offense.
Earlier in that week against No. 24 Wabash Valley College on March 24, Gosser made an immediate impact with a two-run double during Frontier's five-run first inning, helping set the tone in a tightly contested matchup. Throughout the week, he showcased consistency, composure, and timely hitting against some of the top pitching in the region.
On the softball side, Stanley delivered an outstanding all-around performance, playing a key role in Frontier's recent success.
She highlighted her week in a 10-2 win over Olney Central College on Sunday, March 29, going 3-for-3 with four runs batted in, including a home run and multiple RBI singles. Her performance powered one of the Bobcats' strongest offensive showings of the season.
Stanley continued her momentum in the second game of the doubleheader against OCC, collecting multiple hits and driving in two runs during a late-game rally.
Against Rend Lake on Thursday, March 26, Stanley remained a steady presence in the lineup. She recorded a hit in each game, drove in Frontier's lone run in game one, and added three stolen bases in game two, showcasing her speed and versatility.
Across the week, Stanley demonstrated consistency, power, and leadership from the middle of the lineup, emerging as a reliable offensive force for the Bobcats.
