Frontier Community College sophomores Chase Loesch and Lexi Miller have been named Bobcats of the Week for their outstanding performances on the field.
Loesch delivered a breakout performance at the plate, helping power the Bobcats to an 11-4 victory over Greenville University JV on Monday, April 20, while also leading Frontier to its 30th win of the season.
He turned in one of the most impressive offensive outings of the year, driving in seven runs on three hits. His day was highlighted by a grand slam to center field in the eighth inning, breaking the game open and sealing the win for Frontier.
Loesch also sparked the offense earlier in the game with an RBI double in the sixth inning, followed by a two-run double in the seventh. His timely hitting played a key role in shifting momentum and building a comfortable late-game lead.
As part of a balanced offensive effort, the Bobcats totaled 14 hits and drew seven walks. Loesch's performance showcased both his power and the overall depth of Frontier's lineup.
On the softball side, Lexi Miller earned Bobcat of the Week honors after a dominant stretch in the circle, stepping up at a critical point in the season for Coach Jeremy Ellis and the Bobcats.
Miller recorded multiple standout performances, beginning with a win over Rend Lake on Tuesday, April 21, where she worked five innings and struck out five.
She followed with one of her most impressive outings of the season against Olney Central on Thursday, April 23, striking out 12 in a complete-game performance while allowing just one run on three hits.
Miller continued her strong run on Sophomore Day against Lincoln Trail on Saturday, April 25, tossing a complete-game shutout. She allowed six hits while striking out seven and walking just one in a 1-0 victory.
Across multiple appearances, Miller consistently gave the Bobcats a chance to win, demonstrating strong command, composure, and the ability to perform in high-pressure situations.
