Bio
Sydnee (Garrett) Bates was a softball player from Farina, Illinois, who graduated from South Central High School (2021). During her high school career she was a 4-year varsity starter and earned 1st Team All-Conference honors, contributed to multiple team successes, and played both first base and right-handed pitcher.
After high school, Sydnee played collegiate softball, beginning at Kaskaskia College before transferring to Greenville University (IL). In her first season with the Greenville Softball, she achieved standout performance on the mound and at the plate recording a 14-2 pitching record, multiple complete games, and a strong batting average. She was named National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) Pitcher of the Year.
Coach Bates currently resides in Fairfield and is married to Payton Bates. She is finishing her student teaching in physical education at Fairfield Community High School.
