Salinas and Papineau Earn Bobcat of the Week Honors

Salinas earned the honor after an impressive weekend at the plate during Frontier's three-game series against Lake Land College.
The FCC slugger played a key role in helping the Bobcats win two of three games in the series, delivering timely hits and power in the middle of the lineup. Over the three-game stretch, Salinas hit two home runs, including a grand slam, and drove in seven runs.
In Friday's 11-5 victory over Lake Land, Salinas highlighted Frontier's seven-run fifth inning with a two-run home run that helped spark the Bobcats' comeback.
He continued his strong play on Sunday in game one of the doubleheader, driving in five runs on two hits, including a grand slam that gave FCC the lead and helped secure an 8-5 victory.
Salinas also added another home run in the second game of Sunday's doubleheader, continuing his offensive surge.
His production at the plate and clutch hitting helped the Bobcats capture the series win over the Lakers and earn Salinas this week's Bobcat of the Week honor for Frontier baseball.
Bobcats Baseball is now 15-7 overall and will return to action Thursday when FCC travels to Mt. Dew Park in Marion, Illinois to face Shawnee Community College. First pitch is scheduled for 3 p.m.
Frontier Community College softball player Chloe Papineau has also been named Bobcat of the Week after a strong all-around performance for the Bobcats during a road doubleheader against East Central College.
Papineau made an impact both in the circle and at the plate for FCC, showcasing her versatility throughout the two games against the ECC Falcons.
In Game 1, Papineau started in the circle for the Bobcats and turned in a solid outing. The Frontier pitcher worked five innings, allowing four runs while striking out eight batters without issuing a walk.
She also contributed offensively in Game 2 for FCC, driving in two runs to lead the Bobcats at the plate. Papineau finished 1-for-3 with a team-high two RBIs.
Her performance highlighted her ability to contribute in multiple ways and lead the effort for Frontier during the doubleheader.
Papineau's all-around performance earns her Bobcat of the Week honors for Frontier Community College softball.
The Bobcats are 0-8 overall and return to action Thursday when FCC hosts John A. Logan College in a doubleheader at Southwest Park. First pitch is scheduled for 2 p.m.
