Frontier Fires on All Cylinders in Sweep of Blue Angels
Frontier Community College Bobcats Softball earned a dominant shutout victory over KC in the opening game of a doubleheader on Sunday, March 22 at Kaskaskia College in Centralia, Illinois.

Frontier Community College Bobcats Softball earned a dominant shutout victory over KC in the opening game of a doubleheader on Sunday, March 22 at Kaskaskia College in Centralia, Illinois.
Lexi Miller was outstanding in the circle for the Bobcats, tossing a complete-game shutout while allowing just four hits and keeping the Blue Angels off the scoreboard.
Frontier broke through in the top of the fourth inning when Kyndall Webb delivered a single to put FCC on the board. The Bobcats added insurance in the sixth, as Harper Holeman and Alicia Stanley each launched home runs to extend the lead.
Sydney Charlton started in the circle for Kaskaskia, allowing four hits and three runs over four and one-third innings while striking out two and walking three.
Webb and Holeman each drove in two runs to lead Frontier offensively. Chloe Papineau, Hessi Johnson, Webb, Emmy Vinson, Holeman, Peyton Smith, and Stanley each recorded a hit. The Bobcats were aggressive on the bases with four steals and played a clean defensive game, committing no errors. Holeman led the way defensively with six chances.
Zoey Thomason, Taryn Griffith, Alyssa DeWitte, and Shelby Ashcraft each recorded a hit for KC.
Game 2 – Frontier 17, Kaskaskia 5
Frontier completed the sweep in emphatic fashion, defeating Kaskaskia 17-5 in the second game of the doubleheader.
Harper Holeman delivered a historic performance for FCC, blasting three home runs and driving in seven runs to power the Bobcats' offense.
After taking an early lead in the second inning—highlighted by an RBI hit-by-pitch by Webb, a two-run error, and a sacrifice fly from Papineau—Frontier exploded in the fourth inning, scoring 12 runs. Holeman homered twice in the inning, accounting for six RBIs, while Johnson drew a bases-loaded walk, Webb added an RBI single, Vinson drove in two with a single, and Papineau doubled in two more.
Holeman also added a solo home run in the third inning to continue her big day at the plate.
Papineau earned the win for Frontier, going five innings and allowing five runs (two earned) on eight hits while striking out two and walking none. Shelby Ashcraft started for KC, giving up six hits and five runs (one earned) over three innings.
The Bobcats totaled 14 hits in the game, with Papineau, Rylee Hendricks, and Smith each recording multiple hits. Frontier showed patience at the plate with five walks, stole four bases, and turned a double play defensively.
Avery Eversgerd and Ramzi Stefanisin each drove in a run for the Blue Angels, who also turned two double plays.
With the sweep of Kaskaskia, Frontier has now won six straight games, improving to 6-14 overall and 6-6 in Region 24 play. The Bobcats will travel to Rend Lake for a doubleheader on Thursday, weather permitting.
