FAIRFIELD, Ill. — Frontier Community College has named freshman outfielder Mayes Gosser and freshman pitcher/infielder Chloe Papineau as the Bobcat Player of the Week following a strong and consistent stretch of performances across multiple games.
Gosser led the Bobcats at the plate during the week, highlighted by a standout performance against Southwestern Illinois at Arsenal BG Ballpark, where he went 3-for-4 to pace the offense. His ability to consistently put the ball in play and generate scoring opportunities proved vital for Frontier in a competitive series.
He continued to make an impact in the Bobcats' doubleheader split against SWIC at FNB Field, delivering a key RBI in Frontier's 6-5 walk-off victory in game two. His timely production helped fuel the comeback effort and secure the win.
Throughout the week, Gosser demonstrated consistency, composure, and leadership at the plate, recording multiple hits and contributing in key moments.
Frontier Community College has also named freshman standout Chloe Papineau as the Bobcat of the Week following an impressive series of performances both at the plate and in the circle.
Papineau played a pivotal role in the Bobcats' success, highlighted by a dominant showing in Frontier's 7-3 victory over Lincoln Trail. In that game, she drove in four runs on two hits, including a two-run home run and a two-run single. In the circle, Papineau was equally effective, striking out 10 batters while allowing three runs on five hits over six and two-thirds innings.
Her impact extended across multiple games, as she consistently delivered at the plate with timely run production. Papineau recorded RBIs in four separate contests during the week, including multiple two-RBI performances against Lake Land and Kaskaskia.
In addition to her offensive contributions, Papineau logged significant innings as a starting pitcher, handling a heavy workload while continuing to compete at a high level.
For their performances, Gosser and Papineau earn Bobcat of the Week honors, as Frontier continues its season. Congratulations Mayes and Chloe!
