Bio
Jeremy Ellis is a lifelong coach entering his 25th year of coaching. He has compiled a record of 79-79 in three seasons as head coach. Under Coach Ellis’s direction the Bobcats have made the NJCAA Region-24 post season tournament all three years, ranking as high as 4th in 2023. Prior to becoming the head coach, he along with Head Coach Marty Slover started the Frontier Softball program in Fall 2015. Other achievements include 28 Academic All-Americans and finishing in the top 10 nationally for academics in the NJCAA the past three years.
Ellis is a lifelong resident of Fairfield, Illinois. He is an alumnus of Fairfield Community High School (1996), Frontier Community College(1998) and McKendree University(2001) where he obtained a Bachelor's of Arts Degree in Mathematics with an Education Certification.
Coach Ellis is married to Lori (Gray) Ellis and together they have 2 daughters – Mabry and Dalanie. Ellis is a devout Christian, die-hard St. Louis Cardinals, Indian Hoosiers, and Dallas Cowboys fan and collector of baseball memorabilia. He enjoys being with family and watching sports, especially his daughters.
Ellis began teaching and coaching in 2001 at Fairfield Junior High School, where he served as an assistant basketball coach and assistant FCHS football coach. As the junior high head coach, he led teams to 2 SIJHSAA Regional titles, placed at state twice in three seasons and earned I.B.C.A. Coach of the Year (2005–06). Starting his softball coaching career in 2004, he served as assistant softball coach at FCHS during which the Lady Mules captured two regional titles. Coach Ellis served as head coach from 2012–2015 at FCHS. His record was 70–40, winning three Regional Championships, a Sectional Championship, and advancing to the IHSA “Elite 8”.
