Bobcats Sweep Saints on the Road
The Frontier Community College Bobcats Volleyball team traveled to Ullin, Illinois, on Wednesday, October 15, to face the Shawnee Community College Saints.
The Frontier Community College Bobcats Volleyball team traveled to Ullin, Illinois, on Wednesday, October 15, to face the Shawnee Community College Saints. Earlier this month (October 3), the Bobcats defeated Shawnee in straight sets at home—and they repeated that performance on the road, sweeping the Saints once again by scores of 25-17, 27-25, and 25-14.
With the victory, Frontier improves to 17-12 overall and 9-6 in the Great Rivers Athletic Conference. Since October 1, the Bobcats have been on an impressive roll, winning eight of their last nine matches.
It was a balanced offensive night for the Bobcats: Lily Spark led with 8 kills, followed closely by Evan Polsgrove and Elliana Ames with 7 apiece, and Cassidy King added 6. Sarah McCorkle dished out 20 assists, while Arlissa Sharber contributed 11. Tinlea Webb tallied two service aces, and both Riley Roark and Webb recorded 11 assists each.
The Bobcats continue their road stretch this Sunday, October 19, when they travel to Champaign to take on Parkland College. First serve is scheduled for 1 p.m. The Cobras, currently 38-4 overall and ranked No. 4 in the latest NJCAA Division II poll, are coming off a win against Hawkeye Community College on October 11. Bobcat fans are encouraged to make the trip north to cheer on the team as they look to extend their winning streak.
