Two for the Road! Bobcats Sweep Saturday Tri-Match
The Frontier Community College Bobcats Volleyball team hit the road on Saturday, October 25, to compete in a tri-match hosted by Danville Area Community College in Danville, Illinois.
The Frontier Community College Bobcats Volleyball team hit the road on Saturday, October 25, to compete in a tri-match hosted by Danville Area Community College in Danville, Illinois.
In the opening match at 11 a.m., Frontier faced the host Jaguars and came out on top in straight sets, 25-22, 25-18, and 25-23. The Bobcats carried that momentum into their second match of the day against South Suburban College from South Holland, Illinois. Frontier again delivered a dominant performance, sweeping the Bulldogs 25-13, 25-16, and 25-18.
With the two victories, the Bobcats improve their overall record to 19-16. Frontier will close out the regular season on Wednesday, October 29, when they host John A. Logan College at Center Street School. First serve is at 6:30 p.m. The Bobcats look to avenge their September 19 loss to the Volunteers, who won that matchup in three sets (25-16, 25-15, 25-20).
John A. Logan, coached by Bill Burnside, enters the week with a 20-9 overall record and a 14-2 mark in Region 24 play. Both of their region losses came against Vincennes University. The Volunteers will take on Lake Land College tonight in Mattoon after defeating Southeastern Illinois College in three sets last Friday.
