Friday, March 6 – Frontier 11, Lake Land 5
The Bobcats rallied from an early deficit to defeat Lake Land 11-5 on Friday.
After trailing by as many as five runs, Frontier exploded for seven runs in the fifth inning to take control of the game. Justin Early doubled to drive in two runs, Jordan Carter added an RBI single, Kasey Lowe followed with a two-run single, and Gael Salinas capped the inning with a two-run home run to left field.
Lake Land opened the scoring in the first inning when Kaiden Maurer hit a solo home run.
FCC added another run in the seventh when Sean McConachie blasted a solo home run to left field.
Landon Davis earned the win for Frontier, allowing six hits and five runs over five innings while striking out seven and walking two. Jonny Lee picked up the save.
The Bobcats collected 10 hits in the contest. Early led FCC with three RBIs while going 2-for-4 from the eighth spot in the lineup. Early and Mayes Gosser each recorded two hits, and Frontier swiped three bases.
For the Lakers, Logan Winkleman drove in three runs, while Maurer led Lake Land with two hits.
Sunday, March 8 – Game 1 – Frontier 8, Lake Land 5
The Bobcats continued their momentum in game one of Sunday's doubleheader, defeating Lake Land 8-5 behind a big performance from Gael Salinas.
Salinas drove in five runs on two hits, including a grand slam to left field in the fifth inning that put Frontier ahead for good.
FCC opened the scoring in the first inning when Salinas singled home a run. Lake Land briefly took the lead in the third on a groundout by Sharif Colon that plated two runs.
Frontier regained control in the fifth when Salinas launched the grand slam to give the Bobcats a 5-2 lead.
Lake Land added three runs in the seventh on a home run by Jalen House, but Frontier held on for the victory.
Ian-Olivier Beaulieu earned the win for Frontier, pitching six and one-third innings while allowing four hits and four runs, two earned, with five strikeouts. Aaron Buffington collected the save, and Nate Stivers also appeared in relief.
The Bobcats totaled 15 hits in the game. Josh French and Jordan Carter each recorded three hits, while Justin Early and Mayes Gosser added multiple hits. French also stole three bases as Frontier swiped four bases overall.
Sunday, March 8 – Game 2 – Lake Land 17, Frontier 4
Lake Land salvaged the final game of the series with a 17-4 win over Frontier in the second game of the doubleheader.
The Bobcats struck first when Salinas homered to left field in the opening inning, but the Lakers quickly responded.
Lake Land scored five runs in the bottom of the first inning and followed with seven more in the second, highlighted by home runs from Kaiden Maurer, Nathan Stuemke, and Jalen House.
Frontier added runs in the third inning on a sacrifice fly from Sean McConachie and a solo home run by Mayes Gosser, but the early deficit proved too large to overcome.
Bailey Collins took the loss for FCC after allowing five runs in the first inning.
Salinas led the Bobcats with two RBIs. Josh French, Cam Napier, Justin Early, Gosser, Salinas, and Lowe each collected a hit for Frontier.
Lake Land finished with 11 hits, led by Kaiden Maurer's three-hit performance. Madden Johnson drove in five runs for the Lakers.
